Today is Thursday 9th June

and puppy sitting day.

Our neighbours have a funeral to attend today and have asked me to see to their nine month old shih tzu as it’s some distance away.  I went round yesterday to be properly introduced to the pup and got trashed within an inch of my joggers. She was all over me, her nose in the treat pocket (secret weapon) and finally hanging on to my hair. I think she knows I’m a friend! She’s a bit of a houdini so the plan is to go through the back gate rather than the front door.

Our own puppy slept through until almost 5am and after breakfast, let me have a short nap on the settee while she tucked into a hide chew. Just before 7, I put the kettle on and while Hubby was getting up, took her for a walk knowing our neighbours would be dropping off their keys around 7.45. It was a pretty good walk so I did the extended route to give her a little extra and she is getting much better on familiar ground.

Our plans are for a quiet-ish day. Hubby has a blood test at 5.45 this evening so I shall see to Daisy next door before he goes. Hopefully our neighbours may be back by the time he comes home.

Have a good day and keep safe everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

We inherited our daughter’s Shih Tzu when he started being mean to the kids. He was a stubborn little dog and had a three year old’s personality. However we kept him for years until he got sick and I will always regret being in the room with him when the vet euthanized him.

Love that Cutie Pye did she behave. Sounds like Maya is doing well too by the sounds of it 💜💜
