pinprick, slithery, chilling, distraught, felon, string, yet, banish, lid, trip, with, miss
Here’s my little tale:
It was only a pinprick in the fabric over his head, but enough for Sam to make out who his abductor was.
He was distraught to discover the felon was none other than his step sister!
He’d always thought she was a slithery character, insisting on being called Miss Mary as if he was some underling in her employ. He’d tried to lift the lid on her ‘cute innocence’ with his father, yet she could do no wrong. After a string of events in which Sam was the convenient scapegoat, his father had arranged a field trip for them all to enjoy in the hope that it would banish any animosity between the two, if at least for a day.
That was very much not the case and after what seemed like an age, his father found him trussed up like a turkey, gagged and hooded, under a tree in the middle of the woods.
His father confronted her and asked what had happened.
‘It was only a game,’ Mary said with a chilling smile.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too.
On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I don’t think I’d want to “play” with Miss Mary!
She sounds horrible doesn’t she.
I donβt think I like Miss Mary
I don’t think Sam did either!
Well let’s hope she got her comeuppance ππ
hopefully!
I see a movie in the works!
Ha! That could well be true!
