Dr Tanya is our host, and today asks us about five things we’re glad we bought.
The best thing I ever bought I think was my piano in 1998. It took the entire household decorating budget but gave me hours of pleasure. I sold it in 2013 before we sold the cottage and bought the boat, though the latter was certainly not on the card when I did!
I would also say our two settees in 2018 were a good purchase as they have doubled up as beds when Hubby was having restless nights with reflux as the angle of the cushions was just right to get him to sleep.
The boat was also a good buy. House prices were getting away from us in 2014 and buying a narrow boat was actually our best option. We had a lot of fun, learned a lot about ourselves and what was important, and enjoyed the simplistic life. If ill health hadn’t crept up on us, the chances are we would still be on it.
My Yugo 55A was also a good buy and although people laugh and joke about it, the car was reliable, economical to run and could take on BMWs at traffic lights and win!
OK, they caught up with me pretty quickly but that wasn’t really the point!
Google image: mine was the same colour but had yellow ‘go faster’ stripes.
Finally, I’m opting for Hubby’s shed. He’d wanted one for so long and I bought it for his birthday last year.
It sounds like you enjoyed your purchases, which means they were worthwhile š
I think so. Thanks!
Great purchases! I think my best buy was the hair trimming kit. I think I paid $20 for it way back. I gave Sparky and the boys hair cuts from 1995 on. If you figure a hair cut every 6 weeks at an under estimate of $10 then that kit has more than paid for itself!
Hubby bought some clippers years ago and they paid for themselves in 2 haircuts!!
All good buys Di! š
I think so.
Great buys all love that the car had go faster stripes šš
Hubby had one too, the same colour but no stripes and a 45A. We had some fun setting a treasure hunt as it wasn’t until both cars were parked alongside each other that participants realised how we could ‘get between points’ so quickly.
Lol you crafty pair šššš¤£
It was hysterical as they had no idea we had two cars almost identical. Happy days!
Yes it sounds like great fun š
It was indeed
