E.M.’s Sunday Ramble Prompt #25

Amy aka EMKingston is our host and this week’s topic is:

Uplifting Chatter“

With all of the negative things we are facing on the news, I wanted to give everyone a forum to uplift one another through the responses of this ramble.

Here are the questions:

  1. When you feel negative, what techniques do you use to bring yourself up to feeling positive?
  2. What is a smell that made you smile when you woke up today?
  3. An owl is known for its wisdom, what are you known for?
  4. Do you know any good recipes? If so, can you share one? (If you don’t cook, tell me your favorite food recipe that someone else makes for you.)
  5. How do you console the people around you? (Online or in-person)These are my answers:

  1. When you feel negative, what techniques do you use to bring yourself up to feeling positive?
I remember I have had two strikes of Breast Cancer, I’m still here and my husband loves me regardless.
  2. What is a smell that made you smile when you woke up today?
It had been raining and the air was really fresh and clean.
  3. An owl is known for its wisdom, what are you known for?
In the dog world, the treat lady.
  4. Do you know any good recipes? If so, can you share one? (If you don’t cook, tell me your favorite food recipe that someone else makes for you.)
I have quite a few, one being the basis for cottage pie, lasagna, spaghetti bolognese or chili (100g lean minced beef and an onion, then add mixed veg or baked beans  and top with mashed potatoes and grated cheese (1), tomatoes (2 and 3) tomatoes and red kidney beans (4)
If you want an easy dessert and like cheesecake, try this
  5. How do you console the people around you? (Online or in-person)
I’m a good listener, and sometimes just letting someone know you’re there by holding their hand or just sitting beside them is a comfort. You don’t have to say anything.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Nope, Not Pam says:

    Love ‘treat lady’ 😁

    • It’s true. I once opened the car door in the woods car park to find myself surrounded by labradors. I knew them all except one, so couldn’t give them treats. A woman came puffing out from the trees relieved to see her dog with the rest and I asked if I could treat her. She said it was OK and they all waited patiently for their biscuit.
