I took these of Maya this morning.

They were all taken with my Nikon camera.
Those in the next post were taken this afternoon with the Canon.
Oh, and this was our first ancient mariner bloom.
Imagine a four foot high bush with similar clusters on each stem branch.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too.
On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
Maya is beautiful and I swear she posed for the camera. And the Ancient Mariner is glorious! The whole bush must be magnificent.
She is quite photogenic isn’t she. I am waiting for a few more buds to bloom then I shall take a picture (or ten) in all its glory!
Maya is beautiful. We had a white German Shepherd years ago named Hannah. She was a wonderful dog. Your rose is glorious!
Thanks Debi. How lovely to have a white GSD. Kela, our friend’s dog we looked after when she was in hospital is a white GSD x Husky and sometimes were able to walk the two together. Maya is almost as tall as Kela now.
Our roses are quite something, which is a plus as I am hopeless with plants. The blooms are huge and last year we had some beautiful flowers.
I don’t even attempt indoor plants but I love my small flower garden outside.
We seem to do well with our roses.
Your girl is growing up fast. Love the beautiful rose
Thanks Sadje. There are loads of buds on this particular rose bush, and they are all in clusters of five plus!
How lovely
It will be glorious in a few days and I shall have the Canon at the ready as it takes a better picture than the Nikon.

Maya has such a lovely face… and she is growing like crazy!
Her breeder said they have growth spurts overnight, but what she didn’t say was it was every night! When she has a stretch, nothing goes back into place and she’s two inches longer! Her shape is changing to that of a young adult until you see her feet and ears and realise she has a lot of growing room!
Did you know at the beginning, just how big she would be?
We knew she’d be big, and having seen video footage of her Dad in action, we’re not surprised. We think she’ll be as tall as Kela, but not as fluffy. Hopefully the growth spurts should slow down soon, but if they don’t we’re not worried about her size, which makes it even more important to get the training right.
Yes, that is very important, as Maya will probably end up stronger than you!
She is already, so we have to really get to grips with her training.
I remember those days, and I donβt think I could cope now, which is a shameβ¦
I’d be fibbing if I said we were finding it easy.
You are over the worst now, I think…
Nah…………. just getting started! However, she is house trained, great with kids and people and has a lovely temperament. Just need to work on the lead work, stopping her getting so distracted, and hoping she’ll sleep beyond 5am eventually!
Sheβs simply adorable π
Thanks. She is lovely (but then we’re bias LOL)
So beautiful π
She’s growing so fast. I have to keep telling myself she’s only a puppy!
Yes and not a pony πππ΄
sometimes I wonder if she is!!
Lol πππ
Maya is a beauty as is the rose!
Thanks Val.
