Today is Saturday 21st May

It is a lovely sunny morning. I’ve been up a while having had a early night last night as everything suddenly caught up with me.
No doggy class today as we have reverted back to Sundays at 11am rather than Saturdays at 10 so not quite such a rush if the day starts later than usual.

Plans as always aren’t much, but next week we are really busy, so we shall enjoy the ‘rest’ while we can!

The recent rain has does wonders for the garden veg and the onions are doing very well.
We also have some green beans coming up, so Hubby will put some support wire along the back fence to encourage them. The past two years have seen little in the way of beans which was very disappointing bearing in mind our first growing year.

In the greenhouse, we have tomatoes, cabbage and cauliflower in trays, and will transplant those when they are bigger, then along one side are swede and leeks. I may have buried the seeds too deeply as they are taking a while to show, but we have some activity in the back row!

We walked the Kela route yesterday afternoon and could see one duck with about ten babies. Apparently there have been several broods so far this year, but they have all been picked off by crows and gulls. No sign of any goslings yet that we could see. The problem walking through the park is the mess as there is goose shit everywhere, even on the grass, so it’s hard to avoid and Maya picked some up the last time we went there. It was not nice getting it out of her gob.

Have a good day everyone. Keep safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
