Inspiration evades

I’m losing my edge,
Or is it my mind?
Some favourite challenges
Are now hard to find.
Inspiration evades me,
I’m wound up so tight
Originality now is
So difficult to write.
My sense of humour
Used to come into play
But even that
Has gone on holiday:
No doubt somewhere pleasant
Away from the crowd,
Oh how I wish
That could be allowed.
Current circumstances
Are getting me down
And the new face wrinkles
Are all from my frown,
Where is my energy?
Why am I so tired?
Is it because
Of the way I’m now wired?
Bring back my Mojo,
My muse, or whatever
And inspire me to pen
Something witty and clever.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Well, that made me smile! So turn that frown upside down.

  4. WordPress probably disconnected you. Every time they “update,” they do that to many of us. I always think it’s my fault — and then realize, no, it’s really them.

  5. Sadje says:

Worry not my friend! My diagnosis is that you’re tired physically running after Maya. It’ll be okay soon. Hugs

  6. Susan says:

I feel like you crawled into my head and wrote my thoughts down.

I hear ya, Di!! Every day I repeat the same phrase over and over…”I’m so tired”.

  8. I think you just did, Di… sums up what most of us are feeling right now…
