It’s good for me, honest!

The photograph below is from JESHOOTS-com at and provided by Fandango for his Flash Fiction Challenge today.
For the visually challenged writer, the photo is of a smiling woman who seems to be lying on a bed with a TV remote control in her hand and a bowl of popcorn beside her. She’s munching on the popcorn and a handful of popped kernels are scattered on her body
‘Hi Honey, I’m home!’ Geoff called from the hallway as he put his keys in the dish on the shelf.
‘In here love,’ came the reply.
Sascha was lying on the bed watching TV.
‘I thought you were on a diet,’ he said eyeing the popcorn with a smile. ‘Scoot over and we’ll share.’
‘Nope. This is mine and I’m allowed.’
He looked disappointed.
‘There’s some more in the cupboard though. Help yourself.’
Geoff went into the kitchen and flicked the kettle on for a cuppa.
On opening the cupboard, he expected to find a few packets of popcorn amongst the biscuits.  Instead, there was nothing BUT popcorn there.
‘What gives Hon?’ he called.
Sascha appeared in the doorway.
‘Weellllllll,’ she started…….. ‘it would appear that my recent weight gain is perfectly normal, and popcorn is good for me because………………..’
He turned to look at her when she paused.
‘We’re going to have a baby!! ‘
Geoff hit the floor clutching a bag of sweet and salty in his left hand as an array of various flavours fell after him.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
