Our picture prompt:
For visually challenged writers, the image shows a pavilion with people flying kites around it.
Hubby and I made a kite once. Nothing fancy, just a cross frame using two piece of a bean cane, a pedal bin liner, some sellotape, string, and paper bows made from kitchen roll.
Total cost ten pence.
I probably have a picture of it somewhere, and remember us taking it out for its maiden flight not expecting it to do very much.
We were stunned when it soared high into the sky and stayed there for ages as Hubby made it duck and dive, giving the more expensive shop bought designer kites a run for the money. It was fun to make and fun to fly. Shame it crash landed, but it was in style!
