Friday Fictioneers : 15th April

Rochelle Wisoff-Fields is our hostess for Friday Fictioneers.
This week’s picture is supplied by Dale Rogerson. Thank you ladies.
Aunt Jenna?
Yes Sara
I can’t get a signal for my mobile phone.
Ah you won’t indoors.
So what do I do? You haven’t got a landline and I want to phone my boyfriend.
You use the chair.
What chair?
The one at the bottom of the garden. It’s the perfect spot and in the summer we take out a table and have tea.
But it’s been snowing!
Yes I know love, but the signal is still good. Just put your coat on.
No chance. Tom can wait until I go out tonight!

93 words.

Actually based on a true story. When I was in NZ, the only place a mobile phone would work was at the bottom of my friend’s garden, so she put a chair there!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

That’s a good solution until the weather doesn’t cooperate. Time for a new phone service maybe!

Hehe! I think the younger generation would lapse into comas if they lost cell phone signals completely for more than a day!! Maybe for more than an hour!!

  8. Carol anne says:

Lol! I wouldn’t go out there either! πŸ˜€

  9. I hope Tom doesn’t read this!

Haha! She really cares for Tom – not! I can just imagine Aunt Jenna trying to hide a smile!

  11. Bill says:

Oh those annoying blind spots. Well told.

  12. Margaret says:

Very entertaining. Our daughter has poor reception too, and sometimes when visiting her I’m very glad to leave my phone in my bag and tell myself I don’t have to pay any attention to it because it probably won’t work anyway. Freedom.
