Mum would have loved it here. She often spoke of The Bluebell Wood she frequented as a child. It’s a housing estate now, but her memories were as clear as a bell, perhaps even a blue one.
Mum was the first thing I thought of seeing Sue’s photo this week.
She loved the wild flowers and given half the chance would pick a posy of daffodils, daisies or buttercups.
It’s Mother’s Day here in the UK on Sunday.
We’ll be lighting a candle for Mum, and I hope she will be walking arm in arm with Dad in bluebell woods bathed in sunshine as these are here.
Happy Mother’s Day to all Mums out there. You are very special ladies, and we love you.
Hard to believe it’s been a year.
It is. I remember Sue saying how much she loved bluebells. With Mothers Day this weekend too, it all came together to reblog this one.
Yes, it is perfect.
Rest in peace Sue! ❤ ❤
Miss her. A bighearted cyber friend. ❤️
I do too.
The year went by fast. I think of Sue often.
Me too. Ani was so like Maggie, both of us often had to do a double take. We bought an iceberg rose for our back garden for Maggie, and it turned out to be one of Sue’s favourites. It was a double whammy getting so many blooms on it in its first year.

What a lovely touchstone for your mother (and Sue as well) – the bluebell! For my grandmother M it was peonies and for my grandmother T it was lilacs…
Mum loved all flowers, but especially a bluebell wood as it reminded her of her childhood.
