Melanie’s Truthful Tuesday

Thanks for taking over the reins for the moment Melanie.
Melanie’s question is

‘WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU’VE REACHED THE END OF YOUR ROPE ABOUT SOMETHING YOU MAY FEEL CONFLICTED OR GUILTY ABOUT?’   DON’T WE ALL NEED ‘TIME OFF?”

Ah, I have been pushed too far twice, and both did not end well. The first was a slap across the face to ‘the pusher’ and the second was a cup of hot coffee (what a waste) being thrown over the offending party and me being reduced to a nervous wreck.
Never again.

When things get too much for me now, I try to take myself away from the situation rather than say or do something I’ll later regret that cannot be unsaid or undone.
This could be walking the dog (or just going for a walk), shopping on my own but not necessarily buying anything as I’m not into retail therapy, having a hot relaxing bath with loads of bubbles and a good book, or baking.
Basically I need to be on my own to sort my head out.
Lethal Weapon 3 holds bittersweet memories of a falling out as we ended up watching it alone at the cinema on separate occasions.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. You have a very mature way of dealing with that kind of situation. Walking away takes more courage than doing something rash! Great response! 😊
