Today is Sunday 20th March

It is another beautifully sunny day here but the wind has got a bite enough to drop the temperature by about 9º C.
There’s an amateur bikers meeting today so we shall be hearing the continuous buzz shortly. It was well attended last time, about 2000 people apparently. Needless to say we shall not be venturing up that far.

Photos Feb 2019.

Yesterday was very positive with Maya on doggy meetings, especially our second walk as coming off the beach by the flats there were people and dogs everywhere on the ramp leading up onto the prom. She was good with all of them and got her share of fuss and admiration in the process. Not quite so today as she wanted to play with the dogs we met and got a little carried away so had to be reprimanded. We are making progress there though.

Last night we tried a bit of reverse psychology thinking that maybe we were getting her up in the night rather than the other way round. She shuffled herself about a bit, but then settled and went back to sleep until 5.30. This is the best night we’ve had with her so far. Maybe we’re turning a corner there too.
We weighed her this morning as best we could (Hubby first, then Hubby and Maya, subtracting one from the other). She is around 21kgs, so has gained 4.5kgs since her arrival. Looking at the GSD guidelines we downloaded, this puts her well above the average for a bitch of four months, but she is still in proportion and does not look overweight. We know her Dad was huge.
Lunch today is chicken curry as made by me. It’s a large piece of chicken, though the smallest in the freezer, so may well be enough for two days. No poppadoms though as Hubby can’t eat them and going up to the supermarket for just one thing is crazy.

Take care and keep safe everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Yay for the good sleep! And just looking at the photo, when she grows into those feet she’ll be BIG.
