Amy is our hostess for the Sunday Rambles. you can find out more and join in here
This week’s topic is “Kitchen and Food“.
There are alternate questions for those that do not do much in the kitchen. I hope you enjoy the ramble!
Here are the questions:
- When you are in the kitchen cooking (or cleaning), do you have anything playing in the background (i.e.,TV, music, Julia Childs, etc.) while you are completing your tasks? If you are not someone who cooks or does chores in your kitchen, think of another chore or task. While you are doing that task, do you have anything going on in the background?
It’s been a long time since I had music playing in the background when I did anything as these days I prefer to work in silence.
- What is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten that someone cooked for you?
Cow Pie, but it was not weird at all, just bacon, eggs, sausages, mushrooms and tomatoes topped with pastry. Very yummy actually.
- Thinking of that weird food, did you like it enough to eat it again or get the recipe?
My pastry is not one of my better skills, so we’d just have a fry up.
- What’s the food you usually refuse to share?
I’m happy to share most things, but I do like cheesecake and if I make one, I tend to give over half of it away as Hubby can’t eat it and I couldn’t eat a whole one…….. well, maybe!
- Do you use recipes when you cook, or do you have your own way of cooking the food that you love? If you are not the person who cooks in your household, pick a task that has directions/instructions. Do you follow the directions or put them to the side?
We have favourite dishes that never turn out the same twice. I don’t measure quantities and just throw everything together. It usually works.
- Bonus: Pick three smells in your kitchen that make you happy when you smell them.
Frying bacon, fresh bread, and fruit cake.
Lovely answers
Thank you
Great answers Di.
Thanks Lauren
Bacon frying is one of the best smells!
I also love the smell of liver, bacon and onions.
My mother cooked liver to death. I always hated it until I discovered a way to make it tender. I still enjoy liver and onions, but I am the only one!
It was the first meal Hubby cooked for me, liver, bacon, onions, cabbage and mashed potatoes. Yum!!
Oooh, a fruitcake fan, YES!! 🙂
ha!
😊
Hey Di 🙂 I love the food memes at the top along with your answers! The boyfriend one was hilarious to me. I have never smelled fruitcake baking. I imagine it would smell amazing though. 😀 Thanks for rambling with me 🙂
Thanks for setting the ramble challenge Amy
Aww! You’re welcome! I am so glad that I get to read them and have fun with it.
