The day started out OK but now????

The day got off to a pretty good start, and we’ve even had a second walk this afternoon, meeting up with a couple more friends and some dogs. No problems apart from Maya being bouncy and wanting to play.

You may recall the fun and games we have had trying to contact our Internet provider. Well, we finally got a bill for two months which is OK, but they never responded to our enquiry about our contract.
Today we received an email saying our contract has expired, yet we have it down to do so on April 8th.
If we want to cancel our contract, we have to give them 30 days notice.
You gotta love their service……. not. We tried to call and eventually got through to the automated check list. Whist holding to be put through to an operative, the line went dead, and we realised it was 6pm. Time to go home folks, pull the plug on all callers.
So for the next TWO HOURS we surfed the net for alternatives.
Oh the joy of the small print and prices due to increase as from 31st March. You might be on a fixed tariff for your broadband, but things like landline rental, calls, and heaven knows what else in the gadgetry line you might own may affected.
Add to that ‘unlimited access’ does not necessary mean unlimited, as they can cut you off if you’re being greedy at specific times, or have too much going on at once.
The bummer is we seem to be on the best package. Others look really good until you read the reviews and when some are 85% BAD, you tend to think again.
So, tomorrow we will try once again to contact these ghosts and see what we can do. We have a new number now, so our internet search wasn’t all for nothing.
I hate change almost as much as I hate technology.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

You have my sympathies, Di–I thought for sure I’d have a nervous breakdown last week, dealing with similar issues. But I’m still here!!:)

I need to discontinue my TV service and go with another who carries my internet. The price difference is astounding. I know it is only for one year, but one year of saving over a hundred dollars each month is worth the hassle. which I too dread.

  6. I feel for you Di, we are going through the same thing. we’ve been here 3 months and still haven’t found a decent wifi/phone plan. We’re just using phone data and hot spotting it to the TV etc. Only problem is our plan goes bye bye next month so we have to get a new phone plan anyway. Arrrggghhh I hate technology, and change.

    • We thought we were sussed after this morning, but not happy about one aspect and when I tried to follow it up, things just got worse so we decided to scrap it. I still wasted four hours on hold today. Not a good day.
