Sunday Poser 6th March

Sadje is our hostess for the Sunday Poser. Her question this week

What makes you feel strong?

I’ve always been a bit of a wuss actually, not liking conflict and basically anything for a quiet life. I wouldn’t consider myself ‘strong’ as in the physical strength, but I have had to be strong for other people especially the foster kids that were in my care.

When I had my breakdown, I had to be strong to get myself well as my family were miles away and I was pretty much on my own. I had an understanding GP and a terrific boss who stood by me, but the rest was down to me. It took me a year, but I got there, and when I finally left the relationship, I had no regrets.

Hubby and I are strong for each other, we are all we’ve got really, and support each other through whatever life throws at us. This was put fully to the test when having beaten breast cancer once, I had a second strike in 2019 and had to have a mastectomy. I had to be strong for Hubby then, but he was equally strong for me.
He has had his own share of health issues, and we faced them together.

Hubby and I are both survivors. We won’t let anything get the better of us without a fight. Independently, we get by, but together? I think we are a formidable force.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
