Truthful Tuesday: March 1st, 2022 on the 2nd

Frank is our host for Truthful Tuesday and his question this week is

What issue or issues are forefront in your mind at the moment?

Not wishing to detract from the current conflict in Ukraine, my thoughts are a lot closer to home.

Like Frank, health issues are foremost in my mind practically 24/7.
Hubby and I have had a stressful year in that department, but since changing doctor’s surgeries last July, matters have been investigated and pursued leading to an easier peace of mind, but it will always be a concern.
It is not just our health though, but that of our friends who are elderly, but at least we are in a position to help or support when necessary.
We learned the other day that a couple in our road have both got Covid and are not isolating or wearing masks when they go out. That is a worry.

The latest thoughts are obviously the new addition to our family unit.
It’s been a long time since we had a puppy. Both Barney and Maggie were 8 weeks old when we brought them home in 1995 and 2005 respectively, and we were considerably younger and fitter then! Saying that though, Maya’s smart and learning fast as are we.
So much to look forward to and enjoy once we get past this stage!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Current news about price rises on everything especially all things energy.
Money has always been tight but now I have serious doubts about our future.

The clear and present danger that is Putin and his nuclear threat.
That had me sat down talking to my lovely wife just like my soldier father did to my mother during the ‘original’ Cold War. She was shaking and crying, and my wife is plainly worried

The whole world is becoming unhinged because of politics and greed.
As a result the doomsday clock is down to 100 seconds.

As a prepper, it is something most plan for, BUT it is a no win scenario as nuclear war doesn’t decide who wins, but who survives.

Health issues continue to worry me too. But there is only so much I can do. I think your new puppy is the perfect distraction to the chaos in the world.

That puppy phase is short! It will be past in a blink!!!
