I recently went through a really bad breakup and had sworn off relationships forever until I met him.
He was totally different, not exactly the silent type, but he listened when I talked and didn’t interrupt.
He was great company too. We’d go for walks along the beach or through the woods, happy in each other’s company, neither of us expecting too much from the other, just taking each day as it came.
Then he was taken ill.
I was panic stricken. What to do? Where to get help? How to comfort him?
The medical professionals were wonderful.
It was something he’d eaten they said, but they gave him some pills and said he’d be OK in a few days.
Getting him to take his meds wasn’t easy, but I managed and he was soon back to his usual cheeky self.
It was an important lesson for me though to make sure that I put the dirty dishes in the sink, a lid on the biscuit tin, and chocolate was a definite no-no unless kept in the fridge.
Dogs have a habit of being dustbins at times, and those sniffers of theirs get one whiff of something interesting and they want a sample. They don’t read the small print or ingredients list.
