Island – Image by KL Caley
Ah, it’s that time of year again when I am exposed in my entirety and they come calling.
I don’t mind, it’s nice to have the company and I provide what is needed to enhance their chances of survival.
It’s something in my soil you see.
It’s rich in certain elements, nutrients and minerals only I can give, though I have no idea why or how. It just is.
Trevor here (he’s my guardian tree) holds watch and keeps me intact with his root network. He’s in touch with Our Mother at all times so that when the seasons are on the cusp, the water recedes and here I am.
It’s a lovely spot don’t you think?
So peaceful and unspoilt.
The birds are on their way. Instinct drives them here and together we shall bathe in the richness and beauty Our Mother shares with us all.
Then when the season changes again, I shall be caressed and sheathed by the cleansing waters to sleep until the next time my services are required.

Thanks Willow.
Always a pleasure Di 💜
🙂
Very good take.
Thank you
You’re welcome
I love this take on the transient nature of the small tufts of land that come and go… We have several along the river walk that come and go….
We had a couple on the river when we were on the boat.
Oh wow. What a clever and evocative way you have captured nature at work here. Brilliant entry, as always, Di. Thank you so much for joining in with the #writephoto prompt. KL ❤
Glad you liked it KL.
Nature only happily gives and is never glum about it.
Very true!

What a calming story to start my day. Well done.
One question or note maybe. I may just need more tea (it is pretty early here) but your line:
– – – It’s rich is certain elements …
Should it read:
– – > It’s rich IN certain elements … ?
I love your imagery in this story.
Thank you! Will correct now, sometimes they slip through no matter how careful I am.
Glad to have helped.
Amen to your comment about no matter how careful …
I’m still finding things in stories I wrote years ago.
Keep up the great content creation 👌
You are very kind. Thanks 🙂

Oh, I do like it when inanimate objects prove they aren’t 🙂
