Our challenge today is to
Choose and share a favorite song that you like which has a great beat.
In the early days of my relationship with ex-partner, we went to see Shalamar in concert, and this was the current single at the time. I loved the beat and the music, even buying the album.
The dance routine that went with it was awesome…….Michael Jackson was not first!!

“A Night to Remember” is a song by American R&B group Shalamar. It was released in 1982 as the second single from their sixth studio album, Friends. The song was written by Nidra Beard of Dynasty, Dana Meyers and Charmaine Sylvers of the Sylvers.
WIKI (Jeffrey Daniel)
The song was a hit in 1982, almost a year before Michael Jackson moonwalked on the Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever television broadcast; he was a big fan of Soul Train – on which Jeffrey Daniel had been a back-up dancer. According to Jackson’s sister La Toya, Jackson was a fan of Daniel’s dancing and sought him out. He soon met, hired and learned from Daniel.
That song has a great dance beat!
I remember we were all up dancing in the aisles.
great song! I like the beat too!
Hard to believe it’s 40 years old!

Thanks!
You’re welcome
Great choice Di 💜💜
Thanks Willow
Sorry I hadn’t responded to your post, but it’s been hectic over here. What with book riots (j/k) and all… 😉 Anyway what a fabulous song! I can see why it was popular! Has a great beat to dance too! Thanks Di for introducing me to some new music (for me)! 🙂
No problems Melanie. Glad you liked my choice.
