Today is Friday 28th January

The last Friday of the month, and next week sees the beginning of February.
I have a pile of cards to write for hellos and birthdays to get in the post over the weekend. Our postal deliveries here seem erratic and we are wondering if there are still severe staff shortages. Talking to one of our previous regular posties when we saw him in the street, there is a sea of new faces as the pre-Christmas trainees are now on established routes. We have noticed that a letter posted from the hospital with a first class stamp has taken four or five days to reach us, yet I’ve posted something for a recipient miles away and a second class stamp has seen it apparently arrive the following day.

We have decided to have a field trip today and bodywarmers and yellows are on the agenda for pricing. The former outdoor wear is getting thin and tatty, whereas the yellows are still very serviceable, just a bit grubby. We got those for a bargain about 6½ years ago when we were on the boat. Maggie had her own little yellow too.

Hubby also needs to replace his boots as the insides are going. We have two shoe shops in town, one is too expensive for our purse and the other doesn’t usually stock his size or the style he’s after. Any excuse for lunch out LOL!

Hope your day is off to a good start. Keep safe everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

good luck getting the boots, and outdoor ware! Our postal service has gone haywire too! I’m still waiting on a package that was posted the beginning of the month! Yet something I ordered off of amazon got here a week ago. Makes no sense!
