The sun is shining, it’s really pleasant outside and Hubby is digging the garden.
My plans are to get the card kit out and make some Hello cards later.
Lunch is sussed, rice and my sweet ginger and pineapple sauce. No fuss.
Are you afraid of the tax man?
Over the years, any dealings I have had with the tax office have found them helpful and obliging. It was the same this morning and once I’d got past about ten minutes of recorded referrals to the website and multiple options, I was eventually put through to a lovely lady who was absolutely wonderful.
I have had confirmation of my State Pension as from May (hurrah!) and there is an option to transfer ten per cent of my personal tax allowance to Hubby. By doing so, it will take him out of the tax bracket, and if my current works pension isn’t reduced as I expect it to be, my tax for the year would be less than £100 after the adjustment.
Had Hubby paid any income tax over the past four years (joke as our joint income is well below the current threshold LOL), this could have been backdated and done over the phone generating a refund, but as it is to come into effect from the financial year 2022/23, I have to ring again in April. This isn’t a problem though and will take just a couple of minutes as everything is in place. Even better is that this will remain in force unless our circumstances change so I don’t have to renew it every year.
Isn’t it nice to know you can still talk to a human being!
