The day is dull, chilly and overcast, but you know what? I don’t care!
I’ve gotten on the scales this morning (the friendly spot in the bathroom) and have lost a pound so am smack on target!
You know what this means don’t you? It’s official and that marshmallow is history.
Let me tell you a little story about marshmallows.
Years ago (between 1991 and 1995 as we didn’t have a dog) Hubby and I were in Hamleys in London and bought a yard of marshmallow. Yep,ย 36″ย in one long piece.
Standing behind and facing him on the escalator as we passed the ‘Lego’ floor (complete with life-sized Lego Man to greet you), we each started at one end and when we met in the middle, kissed.
The old boy behind us laughed and said he hoped we knew each other, which we laughingly denied, which made him laugh even harder.
Marshmallows have always had a special place in my heart as they were Mum’s favourite too, and every Christmas, we would buy a tub of Flumps ‘from the dog for Nanny’. When we moved away, it wasn’t cost effect to buy a tub, but they were sold in individual 12 inch strips so we’d buy half a dozen and post them to her.
Marshmallows were also something I would have when I was on a low fat diet in the 90’s as like wine gums and liquorice allsorts, they have no fat (just don’t look at the sugars) so I would give myself a sweet treat……… or 10.
So today you little mallow minx, you are mine!
Have a good day everyone and keep safe.
Thatโs great Di. Enjoy your marshmallow ๐
and I did!!!

I bake them on top of yams with lots of butter…probably not going to lose a pound ๐
I’ve had my treat and another for good measure. Now I know that one is enough! For once something is bigger than I remember. Still, I have the syn leeway, so I’ve not overindulged.

My father loved sitting with a bag of marshmallows watching TV. I love them too and see them at the store and walk so close…but if I buy them I eat them all in one sitting! Enjoy, you deserve it!
I confess I have had two because I have been good with my syns today, but saying that, these are so big, one will be plenty in future!
Did you get my email?
Yes, thanks, and I did reply. I also pulled up a map. Wow! Gorgeous! I never noticed how big your country is.
Lincolnshire is the largest county in the UK apparently (and probably the flattest!)
I love that UK names end in -shire…Stine Writingshire! Sounds great!
It does rather! We have quite a few ‘shires’.
Lol! I love marshmallows too! Congrats on your loss! โค
Thanks Carol Anne
I knew ‘marshmallow” as a candy treat was a thing in the U.K. (Europe) but it’s not so much here. Unless it’s slathered with chocolate in a candy bar. I’m indifferent to marshmallows, I like them in cocoa and S’Mores, but not yams (not a yam fan to start). I’ve discovered that I DO like them if they’re just a bit stale and dried out … they’re crunchy and delicious. I am very pleased that you met your goal and got your reward! Lovely!
hehe………. I actually had two. Four syns each so I still have leeway on my 15 allowance, BUT i have discovered that one is sufficient as they are the big ones and at least 6 bites!!
You can have mine. I have never liked them. Too sweet for me but they are lovely toasted as a s’more around a fire. You certainly deserved a treat!
Thanks Kate. I bought them to go in hot chocolate, but ended up having cream instead!!!
