It’s a beautifully sunny day, but cold. There is a severe ground frost that looks like a layer of snow so the roads and pavements are a bit dicey.
Breakfast has been had, usual of porridge and yogurt for Hubby but I went with fruit and yogurt, this morning having kiwi, banana, raspberries and blueberries. The kiwi was a little tart so its sister will stay in the fruit bowl for a while to ripen. Lunch today will be a pasty for him and I’m going to cook myself a vegetable fritatta. I haven’t had one for ages and as I had a tomato pasta on Wednesday, this will make a pleasant change.
I’ll pre-cook the cauliflower and broccoli then drain off the liquid otherwise it’ll go all soggy. I’ll add a chopped onion and halve some cherry tomatoes, then add three beaten eggs and bake it in the oven for the same time as Hubby’s pasty.
We intend to go for a walk shortly just down to the clubhouse and back which is about a mile in total.
I had a phone call yesterday in response to the advert we placed for a dog. The lady was looking to rehome one of her dogs as he had not settled into the new house and had suddenly started barking at everything, including her other dog. She was taking him to obedience classes but found it very frustrating and stressful for them both. Sadly he would have been a bit on the small side for us and I explained about how I was with other dogs (ie, always fussing them and them me) so didn’t think it would be fair to take on a dog that may have issues with other dogs. I really feel for her and hope she can sort something out.
We are still hoping to find a pup, but it was good to know our ad was active.
Take care and keep safe everyone. Most of the Covid restrictions here in the UK have been lifted since 6am this morning, so we shall be doubly vigilant in our efforts to stay away from people and protect ourselves as our government sure aren’t going to.
Good luck on your dog hunt. The right one is out there somewhere
We certainly hope so Lauren.
May it be sooner than later
Us too
