Sarah is our hostess for the Saturday Mix variable challenges. Check it out here

This week we are diving into the depths of our thesaurus and exploring the world of synonyms.
Same Same But Different
Your ‘Same Same But Different’ task is to take the five challenge words and NOT use them in your writing. That’s right, you need to dig out your thesaurus and find a synonym for each word instead.
Your words are:
- sweater
- leg
- ride
- rock
- show
OK then, here’s my effort.
The jumper (1) her aunt had knitted was perfect, especially as she knew how each section (2) of its making had taken time and a considerable amount of love. The stone (4) design was intricate and clever, so she decided to wear it with a favourite pair of trousers rather than a skirt as they always seemed to creep (3) up and reveal (5) either her stocking tops or worse, her underwear.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too.
On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
Now that’s a problem.
One reason why I always referred to wear trousers!
A good reason
awesome! Loved it! ❤
Thank you!
Funny how everyone uses the same words so differently. What caught my eye was #3. I thought of ride as going somewhere while you thought of it as “riding up”.
I did too but then thought about another meaning. I love to read other ideas.
Now that looks like FUN! I’m going to do my own post and I’ll be sure to credit you, Di! Thanks! 😀
It’s a MLMM challenge, the link’s in my post. Enjoy!!
