Today is Sunday 16th January

It is a beautiful morning here, lovely sunshine and a little breeze. As to what the temperature is outside I don’t know as we haven’t unlocked the front door yet.

Showers and breakfast have been had, and we’ve done a 5 day wash as it was just smalls , tees and towels. No need to go up to the launderette today as we can get it all dry indoors. We have a small line up in the bathroom which is ideal for the towels and by putting the tees on hangers, we can hang them from the curtain rails over the rads which are draped in sock and pants.
Some of you may wonder why we don’t invest in a small tumble dryer. I can honestly say we have no room for one unless we put it in the bedroom and the only available space there is where the new doggy bed will go. We manage pretty well though so it’s not a problem. When we had one before it wasn’t exactly that expensive to run as it wasn’t as if we used it every time.

We are expecting a delivery today (up to 7pm) so won’t be going anywhere. This is not necessarily a bad thing as Hubby can rest and I can hopefully get on with making some cards for upcoming special birthdays and anniversaries. It’s going to be quite a year!
10.10 and my book has arrived! Cannot fault delivery and now we have the day free.

The marshmallow is smirking at me from the packet as I have maintained this week.
It’s a disappointment but not a disaster so I’m not going to beat myself up about it.
I could say to hell with it and have the damn thing to get it out of the packet my system but that’s cheating because I haven’t ‘earned’ it. As soon as the scales touch target though, regardless of what day of the week it is, that marshmallow is toast and shall be devoured with relish.

Have a good day and take care everyone.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

The weather here is the same, I have washing on and I am going to try it out on the line! … madness I hear you mutter .
We keep our tumble dryer in the garage band vent it out though the door it works really well. We don’t use it all the time only when needed .
Maintenance on your weigh is better than gaining so well done you . I don’t hold out any hope of that cheeky Marshmallow lasting another week😁💜💜💜💜

    • We don’t have a garage and the shed isn’t really big enough, plus has no power. It’s not a problem though. Good for you getting stuff outside on the line! There’s no heat in the day and no wind so nothing would dry here. The heating’s on anyway so no extra cost involved!!
Oh yeah, that mallow’s days are numbered..

  2. Rain and wind here so I’ll be indoors all day. Dryers are a modern day convenience, not a necessity. Anytime I can hang my clothes I do it keeps the colors vibrant. Hope you enjoy the day.

    • Thanks Alice. The one thing I really missed when we were on the boat was a washing line. We had to tumble dry everything and it took a toll on our clothes. A line was the first thing Hubby put up for me when we came here, and I don’t think you can beat the smell of laundry dried outdoors.

  3. I wonder if that marshmallow will last the day….hmmm…

Hehe! I can honestly say that marshmallows have no attraction for me unless they are sandwiched between 2 graham crackers with a bit of chocolate bar…

Sunny here too and because we live near the equator we’ll risk the whirlygig!!
