First Batch for 2022

For the past few days I have been meaning to get the kit out and set to making cards as I have several important landmarks coming up this year.

First order of the day though was to have a sort out and I’ve now put all my Christmas stuff in one box. I can honestly say I will not have a problem looking for trimmings this time and that is before I’ve sorted out the cards sent to us to see what I can recycle.

I made seven today and began an eighth but my creativity deserted me, so that’s a WIP.
However, I did make three of the specials and hopefully will be able to settle down again next week to make the remaining ones I need, one of which is due in February. I also want to make some Hello cards, so I’m going to be busy.

I used up a few odd and sods today and think they came together quite well.
I’ve still got a few ideas going round in my head though and hopefully will experiment next time.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

    Awesome bird deco!

    • I found them at the bottom of the box. I have a few left, one of which is a stork /crane, so not exactly happy birthday material and I don’t know of anyone expecting!

  2. Love them πŸ™‚ nice leisure time activity.

All of them are delightful – but that first one and the last one are my favorites!!

    • I love the humming bird too and have a specific person in mind for that one. The top one is also allocated as are the two 80s. I have another 2 x 80s and a 40 to make for my next session.

wonderful you made so many cards, Di! xoxo

    • I seem to average about 7 a session then my back starts to hurt or I run out of steam. I gave a lot away as gifts for Christmas so I shall build up my stock again.

    Lovely cards.

    The cards are beautiful. πŸ™‚

  9. I love the scalloped edges. Is that one bird sort pieced together somehow? The one on the card that has 80? I love the colors. One thing I have noticed after picking out paint colors and all that for the house is that throwing in a shocking contrasting color adds a nice pop. Great work!

    • Thanks! I like the scalloped cards too and can get them in various sizes in either white or cream. However, if I’m intending to fold them back on themselves, I use the flat edged cards.
The birds are a padded plastic and done like a pathwork. I had some wild animals which were great and also a sheet of cats which I haven’t used yet. I’m still playing with backgrounds and contrasts……… I have some black paper plus bright fluorescent green, orange, yellow and red.
