Sarah is our hostess for the Saturday Mix challenges, You can find out more and join in here
This week we are dipping our toes into the pool of OPPOSITES. Our challenge is all about “opposing forces” and the use of antithesis in our writing. You will need to use the two opposing words in your response – which can be poetry or prose.
Our words this week are:
– spend and save
Funny how this week’s SoCS was about ‘a rainy day’ and I wrote about saving.
It soon became habit to save at least a third of our income rather than spend it, though one month I’d had enough of scrimping and saved nothing! Come next payday, I cried because I had nothing to show for it, and could not tell you, even now, where that money had gone.
I sometimes wonder if people lack imagination when it comes to naming their offspring. I have seen II or even III after names, but when for example Dad is referred to as John Senior and little Johnny as Junior, I think of Sean Connery referring to Indie as Junior in The Last Crusade.
