An excellent day so far!

We have had a really good morning for a variety of reasons and now at 4.15 in the afternoon I am able to catch up with everything.

Great news is that Hubby’s INR is right where it should be, smack on 3.5. Even better, he does not have to go back for another six weeks!! This is terrific news for him.

From there, we went on a spending spree.
With the car due for its MOT next week, having put new front tyres on the car in November, we decided to replace the rear tyres as well as although there was sufficient tread on them, some garages like extra and will fail a vehicle accordingly.
As explained in a previous post, we are having the MOT done locally and will book a service in a couple of months. Still with the MOT in mind, we then purchased 3 new wiper blades as one was not clearing the screen very well. When Hubby changed them over, a front one was split, so that would have been an MOT failure. The only other things we can check ourselves now are bulbs.

From there we went into town and had a snack. I had a bacon roll which I can allocate against my allowances and Hubby had a sausage roll. The cup of tea and coffee that went with them went down very well.
We were parked by the craft shop so I went in there and got the stickers I wanted.
Each sheet was only 50p and I usually paid a pound, so I was well pleased and came away with gold and silver Best Wishes, Happy Anniversary and Thinking of You.
Hubby noticed a Final Reduction sale in another shop so we went in and had a look around. I am SO pleased we did as he has treated himself to some fishing gear, and I have promised to cook whatever he catches provided he guts and fillets it first.
He is a little anxious at buying things for himself but I have assured him that when I see something that takes my fancy, I will do the same.  We’ve had enough of scrimping and saving for no gain, so if we can afford it, we shall indeed have it!

Lunch was therefore late and we had our second portion of stew which was very welcome and warming. The day has been pleasant, dry and sunny, but temperatures are dropping now. Hopefully though we will get out for a walk early this evening.

And now to blog…………………………………………

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Hip Hip Huzzah! All good news! I’m relieved that there was no problem with the test and that you were able to get the car all set for the inspection. I do believe I’m getting taken out for dinner tonight after 9 days of cooking and leftovers! (I made soup and more soup and I’m sick of soup!)

    • Sounds good to me! We enjoy the occasional snack out, but going out for dinner would be a waste of money as Hubby would not be able to eat it at the moment. We would both love a steak dinner, but his stomach can’t handle it just now. We’re working on it though!
