Today is Thursday 13th January

It is another beautiful day here. Hubby is expecting a delivery anytime up to 10pm so we won’t be going anywhere today. I walked up to town to go into the card shop to get some Happy Anniversary and Thinking of You stickers but she had nothing in that line at all.
I noticed her stock is changing over to something else and thought at one stage I was in the wrong shop. The little battery shop closed at New Year and it looks like she may be taking over that merchandise. There is another a card shop, but sales rather than crafts, and that closed before Christmas, apparently unable to compete with a couple of other shops and indoor market stalls in town.

The market was on today and is considerably smaller than when we arrived here over four years ago. This could of course be down to the season, but more likely due to site costs for the stallholders as council rates have rocketed. Town itself was pretty quiet, but the cafes were bustling so maybe I was just early as it was only 10am.
I went into Greggs and got Hubby a sausage roll for his snack later this afternoon. We are having stew today and that will see us through the next three days.
I am still going for that pound loss on Sunday. A marshmallow has got my name on me and is smiling at me from the sealed bag.

Have a good day and take care everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I hope the Council doesn’t kill commerce with rates that price everyone out of business! I know that diversifying is the mantra now days…

  4. If you feel comfortable doing so, email me and send me your physical address and I’ll mail you stickers…I have loads as my mother was a ‘collector’ of such (she liked to make cards too) and I am a collector. So I’m sure there are a whole raft of “Happy… ” stickers and “Thinking of You” that I have or can easily get. If you’d like them? I have some with butterflies and affirmation type sentiments too if you’d like some of those. I’d love to see them being used, so don’t want money for them. Take care Di, and no offense if you’re not comfortable sharing such info. I believe my email is on my profile?

    • Thank you for the offer Melanie, but at the moment I think I shall be OK. There is very little here in that line but I have found two outlets elsewhere without having to travel miles! I shall definitely keep you in mind though if I get stuck! Thanks again.
