It’s 3.15 in the afternoon and I have just accessed my blog.
Although the day started frosty and chilly, it held promise of being sunny and dry so rather than stay in, we decided to go for a walk in the woods.
I took the camera and got a few decent pictures so they will follow in a separate post.
I read the meters this morning as usual and our gas usage is up, but then it’s been so cold lately, the heating has been running longer so I’m not surprised. The good news is that we already have a nice cushion on our account to cover the winter months, and everything is actually as it should be.
We were out all morning so lunch was late, but it was straightforward and quick to make. I was going to do a chicken curry but that got amended to ginger and pineapple chicken instead and I have to admit, it was rather delicious! I remembered to add the soy sauce this time as it had got pushed to the back of the cupboard and forgotten about. It really added that little something to the sauce and I sliced a carrot as well because I like the extra texture.
Since being home, the council have been out to replace the bulb in the street lamp opposite our lounge window. It’s a shame really because we hadn’t been in the spotlight for a couple of months. They’d changed the bulb a month or so before that and it failed relatively quickly so we were secretly pleased! Maybe the same thing will happen………..
Glad you had a nice walk in the woods! Ginger and pineapple chicken does sound delicious. I hope the rest of your day is relaxing! xx
It was lovely!!
Those bright lights shining in the window are not conducive to sleep. This area isn’t well lit (by the street lights anyhow), so some of the neighbors have taken it upon themselves to be the beacons in the darkness with halogen light bulbs in their yard lights. *sigh*.
I’m glad our bedrooms are at the back of the property, but in the next road they’d installed the softer LED lights in the street lamps. Wish they’d do that here!
Maybe a birdie knew you didn’t like the light and pecked the bulb for you. Lol
I do hope he comes back then!!!!
He should
🙂
Hehe! Perhaps it will fil again…
hoping……………………………..
Being in an apartment complex the lights at night are always on, for safety of course, but unless I want blackout curtains which I certainly do not, it’s never completely dark.

It never is here either, even when the street lights go out at midnight. We have black venetian blinds at the bedroom windows as well as curtains.
I just have white mini blinds that come with the new apartment so far
sounds nice
