Truthful Tuesday 11th January

Frank is back as our host for the Truthful Tuesday questions. Many thanks to Melanie who covered for him during his hiatus.
His first question for 2022 is what was your favorite part of this holiday season?

Being retired, we no longer have to worry about returning to work after the holidays, not that every day is a holiday for us as there is always something to do somewhere.
Our Christmases are always good, even when we didn’t have any spare cash we had fun and I cooked a traditional meal with all the trimmings. The only thing that has changed there is instead of cooking a whole turkey, we only have turkey slices, though this year I refused to pay what they were asking and we had chicken. It was still all good. It has been nice to indulge myself over two days as the diet diary was canned and on New Year’s Eve we toasted in 2022 with a glass of bubbly.

I love to see kids riding new bikes after Christmas, and two here were given go-karts. They are probably around 6 and 7 years old, sensible and part of a happy family unit, or they seem to be from what we’ve seen when they go by. They have all the kit, helmets, gloves and padding just in case, and their laughter is a joy to hear, so I guess I’ll go with that this time.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Opening gifts it was the surprise and delight when the gift was “just right” and unexpected!
