KL Caley is our hostess for the Thursday Write Photo challenge.
For visually challenged writers, the image shows a collection of tables, chairs, lamps, baskets, teddies and other objects in quite a busy space.

‘Come on Mummy! You’ve got to see Nanna’s new house!’
Cheryl was tired and could not understand why Lottie was so excited. Her mother had died a few months ago and the house was in the process of being sold. It was a heartbreaking time as she had no siblings to share the load and her father had died years before. Her husband was working nights now as the pay was better and they had to catch up on their bills after Covid. They both knew he was lucky to still have a job.
Lottie tugged on her mother’s hand, almost pulling her off her feet.
‘Do you think Nanna would have made cake and cookies like she used to for us? Can we visit? It’s been so long since we last saw her.’
Cheryl couldn’t answer as the tears were beginning to well up as she saw where they were headed.
Thankfully, the Antiques Shop wasn’t open and Lottie could just peer through the glass at familiar chairs and tables set out between other items for sale.
Cheryl now wished she had contacted a house clearance firm from another town as she hadn’t anticipated this. How could she explain to a four year old that she couldn’t visit her beloved Nanna here or anywhere else.
