5 Fave Winter Holiday Snacks

Dr Tanya is our host for the 5 Things series.
This week she asks us to name five snacks that you enjoy during the holiday season.
You can find out her favourites and join in here

In the winter and especially over Christmas I’m partial to a cup of  hot chocolate with marshmallows on top.
I bought a pack of the large American style marshmallows for this purpose but haven’t opened them yet.

Another favourite over the holidays is Brandy Snaps. Hubby treated me to a pack and at 3 syns each I was careful and had them over a few days. They were just how I remembered them.

Turkish Delight… the stuff that is not covered in chocolate! I love the lemon and rose.

Crisps (potato chips to my American friends)
Something I shouldn’t have due to the salt content and high syn count, but having found a multipack of smaller bags, I can have my fix and keep within my syn allowance.

Not really being one for nuts, I do enjoy chocolate covered brazils. I didn’t actually buy any this year as Hubby has to avoid chocolate, and although it would be no hardship at all for me to eat them all, I didn’t consider it fair!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Hot chocolate is a big favorite of mine during the cold of winter too! My other favorite snacks include: Oreo cookies, baked cheese curls, dried apricots, and dried squid! Of course I indulge in moderation and try not to have the Oreos around as they are a huge temptation!!!

  2. It’s so sweet of you to not buy your favourite treat because your husband can’t share it 🥰
