It is a wet and grey Wednesday, but mild with temperatures in double figures C.
Saying that, we have had a positive day, starting with going into town to the jewelers as Hubby’s watch didn’t work. I was angry and upset, but we were determined not to let it spoil our Christmas. We had an added bonus anyway with one of the little gifts I’d bought from a charity shop and when Hubby put a button battery in it, it played Jingle Bells!
There was no problem whatsoever with the watch, which turned out to have a dud battery in it, so this was replaced and is now ticking away quite happily.
From there we had a snack and wished the girls a Happy New Year, then a little bit of shopping for shampoo (I am going to try Tresemme Deep Cleansing shampoo designed for normal to greasy hair which was £1.79 for 500ml), Corsodyl mouthwash and a new concertina file for our ever increasing paperwork. This one will be for current things only and compartments listed in alphabetical order!
Lunch today was fish and peas with wedges and tomatoes for me, and mash for Hubby, followed by the last of my cheesecake. I have given away three quarters of it, and we have enjoyed the rest, so the next one won’t be made for quite a while, probably Easter or my birthday. My freezer is looking quite vacant as we have used the last of the roast potatoes, the last of the wedges, neither of which I shall be replacing as it’s only me who eats them, the standby loaf of bread is now in use, and the meat drawer has just a couple of chicken breasts, packs of minced beef and fish left in it.
Glad the watch was a simple fix, nothing worse than a special present that dosen’t work 💜💜
I was quite upset about it as I was so pleased we’d bought it that day. Still, it works and Hubby’s happy, so that’s all that matters.
Yes indeed 💜
So glad the watch works again! We are going out tomorrow morning to get some supplies for our little New Year get together! Trying to decide on New Year’s Day whether to have corned beef and cabbage or black-eyed peas and cornbread…
We aren’t shopping until after the New Year Bank Holiday Monday as we have an appointment on the 4th so will do it on the way back.
well, your gonna need food soon! But I am so glad the watch works now! Yay! What a fantastic field trip! xo
Nope. Have just done my shopping list for next week, and there are about a dozen things on it, so about £25 to £30 as we buy UHT milk for the month (£12), and I’m stocking my freezer with meat (another tenner)
