“The expert in everything was once a beginner.”
“Beginner” and “Expert” are two ends of a spectrum and there is a long journey between them. What the world sees is usually the expert: musicians, authors, scientists, athletes, artists and so many others. They become known only when they have reached the pinnacle in their field.
I have often wondered what qualified someone to become an expert. Jack of all trades and expert of none immediately came to mind, and in today’s world, Experts seem to do nothing but contradict each other, especially in the political world.
But if we apply this to blogging, the ‘expert’ is indeed a jack of all trades, in presentation, the written word, illustrations and audience appeal. It is forever a learning curve as we experiment with different ideas or topics, sometimes reverting to favourite or familiar standbys when things go perhaps a little sideways.
