Today is Boxing Day

It is a cold, wet and windy day, but our spirits are still on a high from a lovely Christmas.
I excelled myself with dinner, and although Hubby ended up eating his in two sittings, he had no repercussions at all.
Today we shall be having our usual bubble and squeak with cold meat. I didn’t bother buying a jar of pickle as I’m the only one who eats it, only like it very occasionally anyway, and had to throw almost an entire jar out because it had ‘gone off’.

I have spent the morning checking our edible gifts for best before dates and they all have a long shelf life, some going into the middle of 2023. Some of the things I bought though have to be eaten by the end of January, and the mince pies by the end of December. I will not have to buy biscuits for about 3 months. Wonderful, as they are all things Hubby can eat.

Weigh in today and I am JUST in range. My day is Sunday and my consultant said I could text in today or tomorrow. I know if I left it to tomorrow I would be out of target!
Back to the diet sheet tomorrow, but I intend to enjoy today……. chocolate Santa for breakfast seemed like a really cool move. Yum.

Enjoy the rest of your celebrations. Take care and keep safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
