One I forgot yesterday

While we were walking along the shoreline yesterday, a black and white dog suddenly came rushing towards meΒ  and promptly dropped her ball for me to throw.
Tash is a cocker spaniel and absolutely gorgeous. She has a playmate called Lucifer who is a totally black cocker cross and a real devil but fun, though I think they call her Lucy. She is a little more shy, but once she got the idea that this person in the bright yellow coat was up to throwing balls, well, you can imagine how I was occupied for the next fifteen minutes.
Hubby took this picture of Tash as she tried to get him to join in too.

When we first met up with these two, oh must be almost two years ago now, they were a little wary of strangers and it was unheard of that they would share their balls, let alone bring it to someone other than ‘Mom’.
Yep, Tash brought her ball to me and we played for a little while as Maggie looked on. Maggie was never one for playing fetch, or she would fetch the ball, but not give it back. This could be a wee bit embarrassing if the ball in question had been pilfered from another dog in the first place. Happy memories of Maggie on the beach one day with two younger dogs who let the old lady join in. You can read that here

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

A beautiful fifteen minutes and memories of Maggie πŸ’œπŸ’œ

        Hi Di
Ruby update. Last Friday we visited thev vet hospital in Guildford. Good news. They were very pleased with Ruby’s progress. Tests show that all of the cancer has gone. It could come back but they feel it is unlikely in her lifetime. The wound is healing nicely. The weeping has stopped and now new tissue is growing. He said she should be fully healed in weeks rather than months. Stitches have been removed and unless anything untoward happens this is our last visit to Guildford. The vet asked for pictures to be sent this Friday so he can check progress and see if more antibiotics are required. She is still restricted to the garden but all in all, it’s a πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œgreat relief. Thank you for all of your support. Ruby sends her love ❀️

      • Oh Willow, this is such wonderful news! What a great vet and good for Ruby! Hugs, treats, and champers by proxy.
This has really made my day! XXX
