Tuesday afternoon: 7th December

It is 4.30pm and chucking it down with rain outside.
We have had a brilliant morning though so don’t really care as it started when we were coming home!

Hubby had the phone call about his meds at 10am, which meant we actually had most of the day free, so we went shopping.
We’d taken stock of our vitamin supplies and knowing what was in short supply last year, decided to play safe and get some Vitamin C, Vitamin D, multi-vits, garlic capsules, paracetamol and cold remedy. I’m glad we did as the pharmacy where we got the Vitamin D from is no longer stocking the 25μg strength, only 12.5μg and our lovely GP of the time (pre Covid) had recommended 25μg for us both, especially after my surgery. I looked it up and μg is the symbol for microgram. Our garlic capsules were also low on the shelves so we got two of those as we both take them so we are now well stocked into the New Year and won’t have to worry.

I got a new battery for my watch and whilst that was being done, Hubby saw one he liked so we bought that and it’s his Christmas present. I am so pleased because he can’t wear a digital watch and it’s something he wanted which he’ll be able to read without his glasses. The girls even gift wrapped it for him, so he has a parcel to go under the tree, even if he knows what it is!!

We had a snack out, then had a look round a few other shops and bought a few more things that I can wrap for the 25th. I have a new Christmas Gnome I’ve called Bert and he’s on the shelf with the bears.

When we got home, we put the stew together and had that about 3pm. It was delicious and we have enough for the next two days.
It’s been a terrific day!!

Keep safe everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Watches are such special presents; especially for us chaps who don’t get much chance to accessorise! I hope it serves well, and for many years. 😊
