Today is Saturday Dec 4th

It is a beautifully sunny day, but boy is it cold outside!
We’ve done two washloads and will be taking that up to the launderette shortly as there is no heat in the day so pointless trying to get it dry outside.

I wrote all my Christmas cards last night, and it took almost two hours! There aren’t so many this year and I already had the stamps, but I have three that need to be checked for weight and one of those is for the US so I hope it arrives in time.Β  My hands ached afterwards with all the writing, which is why it took so long!
We had a lot of activity outside our house last night and went out to investigate. It was our postie van and they were running late. They are training new staff as once again sickness has hit the local sorting office and the posties are having to double up on their routes. Our neighbour went to the Post Office here yesterday to post a parcel and was queuing for almost an hour as there was only one position open. Staff are usually long faced and I’ve only seen one girl smile once, so we shall go to the next village as although they only have one till, the staff are nicer.

Other than that, we have a free day. Hurrah!! Hopefully we will be able to get out for a walk later.

Keep safe and take care everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  3. Be sure to bundle up! It’s cold here too, I think it was 38 (?), maybe 40 F this morning. Frost on the lawn, the sun is in the sky, but it’s danged chilly. Ziggy doesn’t like this kind of weather much, and spends his days stretched out in front of the gas fire I have, warming his bones. I’m apt to do that too, because that fire really heats the great room well! Take care and have a wonderful evening! πŸ™‚
