The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Nov. 27, 2021

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “golly gee.” Use “golly gee” or another interjection that displays the same sentiment in your post. Enjoy!

Apparently my first word a a child was not Mamma or Dadda, but golly.
This was because someone had a toy golliwog and I took a shine to it, or maybe it was mine. I was very young so can’t remember!
It was also very fashionable at the time to collect the paper gollies from the jars of jam and when you had ten I think you sent off for an enamel pin from a choice of designs. I only ever had one.
I had a friend who was very excitable at times and golly, gee, or gosh were her words of delight or surprise when most others would come out with Wow, or Blimey!
In hindsight, it was quite charming.  I wonder whatever happened to her? She was a little older than me but we lost touch in the 1960s.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
