Today is Thursday 25th November

The day is bright and sunny, but there is a definite chill on the air. We’ve taken a chance and put some washing outside, but the lighter stuff is on rads as we know it will dry.
Last year we were able to take advantage of any good weather and got most of our washing dry outside, only needing to go up to the launderette half a dozen times rather than once a week as we used to. The driers are huge industrial ones, and for £1.70 (about half an hour drying time) we can get two full washloads dry, so it’s not exactly expensive.

INR test today, but it’s after midday so our lunch is going to be early. I was going to do ginger and pineapple chicken with rice, but think Hubby’s digestion isn’t up to tanginess yet, so curry it is. I haven’t made one for a while, but this will be pretty basic with added onions, sultanas and garlic.

We contacted the Cancer Research organization as we’ve had concerns about the booster following my mastectomy two years ago (yes, it’s really that long ago), and I had a lovely reply today. My SW consultant is in a similar position to me and she had her booster a little while ago, so I’ve spoken to her too. She took a couple of paracetamol before she went and said she only suffered a slight headache and soreness around the site in her arm. I’m going to follow her lead on that as I remember I was given some before I went into the operating theatre. I was extremely lucky and had very little pain afterwards, the only major onset being when I’d eaten too much three or four days later!!
Boosters are booked for both of us on Sunday.

Have a good day and keep safe everyone.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

So glad that you have your boosters booked. We have had our about a fortnight ago now, hubby a week ahead of me. We had two Astazeneca shots earlier this year and our boosters were Pfizer. I found I tolorated the Pfizer booster much better than the original Astrazenica. 💜💜💜💜

Good to hear that you’ve booked your boosters – we were going to but with the holiday and traveling we’ve decided to schedule them for the following week. I’m hoping the process is as smooth as for the flu shot we had last month!
