Today has been a good day

Hubby and I always close our days with thoughts on whether it has been a good day. Most are of the good variety, and we try not to dwell on the bad.

We’ve had a few showers today, so the washing put outside was brought in but has dried OK over the rads. That’s definitely a good thing as Hubby was running out of socks and underwear!

Hubby’s INR has shot up, so another test is scheduled for Monday morning. I have my diabetes eye screening in the afternoon, so it won’t clash with that. The new surgery is keeping on top of the INR figures and we’re confident he’s in good hands. Another good thing.
Our early dinner was tasty and we had a snack out because it would be a bit late when we got home to think about sandwiches or having something hot.

We’ve had a walk today, doing the Kela route in reverse and feeding the ducks.
I swear they recognised the yellow coats and black bag! I know we shouldn’t feed the geese, but Fred has a bad wing and can’t fly, and his companion has a bad foot, so to us they are honorary ducks and get slipped a handful of seed. I even stroked one of them today.

Whilst out, we went into the card shop I recently discovered as I am still on the lookout for Christmas toppers to put on my cards. The lady there is lovely and was very apologetic as she had sold out of everything except rubber stamps. She said she was unlikely to get anything else in now as her suppliers only had the ‘horrible’ stuff which she knows her regular customers wouldn’t like. I wish now I’d taken a chance on the bumper pack I saw up the road here but had been wary because some of the last things I bought there were incomplete or sub standard quality.
I do have a few simple ideas though which hopefully I’ll get to try out over the weekend.

The media is full of sadness and unrest, but my reader today has been full of Thanksgiving stories that have warmed my heart.
Yes, today has definitely been a good day. Photo October 2017

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I’m so glad today’s a good day for both hubby and you. Aw, I almost pity the poor geese.

So glad you’ve enjoyed the Thanksgiving posts! It has been a good day here too! We had family over and enjoyed the company – even played a card game after dinner and finally sent everyone home at 10:30 PM. Now I’m catching up on posts and comments (late into the night but I don’t have to go anywhere tomorrow so I’m “burning the midnight oil”!
