This week, KL gives us Stamps as our theme.
For visually challenged writers, the image shows a colourful collection of used stamps from various envelopes and postages.
People collect a variety of things and a collector of stamps is called a Philatelist.
Posted a letter
Hopeful it would be answered:
Interestingly enough, it was.
Legitimate enquiry
And a friendship made.
Trust and honesty
Enveloped us two,
Lifetime partners we would become.
Inseparable as the years have progressed,
Strong and united,
Together forever.
For newer readers who may not be aware, Hubby placed an advert in the local paper and I answered it. Both of us were coming out of relationships that had ended badly and were looking for nothing more than friendship and company.
We got married two years after we met and celebrated our Pearl Wedding anniversary this past May.
He says it’s the best tenner he ever spent, and still has the copy of the ad he placed and my reply. I say it’s the best stamp I ever purchased. We still don’t know when the slushy stuff crept in and we became a couple, but I’m sure glad it worked out that way!

This is so lovely 💜💜💜
and true as you know Willow.
Yes a beautiful true story 💜
Fate wanted that you should meet.
We were destined to meet. It turned out that we went to the same places but on different nights, and I used to write to guys in the forces and apparently the guy in front of him in the queue took my letter out of the box. Third time lucky?
Haha! What a chance!
No way I was going to let him get away.
🥰😍
Wonderful
Thanks!
Love birds! I do so enjoy a happy ending and there’s nothing better than a true true love story!
Thanks Val
