We went to the garden centre today and discovered it was OAP excursions and lunch day. The car park was busy with coaches and mini buses, but it was wonderful to see elderly and disabled people having an outing to such a magical place.
As always it was like walking into another world where you can leave your everyday worries at the door and absorb the enchanted atmosphere within.
You can read more about such visits here and here
Today we were after paving slabs to finish off the area to support the Mini Man Cave and stop rodents digging under it. I took the Nikon Coolpix, the camera I had before I treated myself in April, but wish now I’d taken the Canon as I lost a lot of definition reducing the size of my pictures.
Anyway, hope you enjoy these as much as we did. The singing reindeer were there again, this time outside Santa’s Grotto which is absolutely fabulous this year.
and they had a new horse statue
As well as the paving slabs, we came away with some bird feeders which Hubby is going to put on brackets on the fence posts so that they can see them. I had to laugh at a pigeon the other day trying to work out how to get his rather rotund body into the bird table to feast on the seed (which it appears only pigeons like).
He landed on the roof, then tried to hang upside down losing his balance, so ended up on the floor. He tried again with similar results, then eyeing things up from the ground, he aimed his flight at the table and wedged himself in. Success!! Except every time he pecked and raised his head, he banged it on the inside of the roof!
