Today is Sunday 21st November

Heavy rain woke me up around 6am, and it looks like we’re in for a showery day.
The sun is out now, but looking at the weather site and radar picture, rain is heading for us, so putting the washing outside would be like playing with velcro so the small load we did is on the rads and will dry OK indoors.

Text in for Slimming World today and I was dreading it.
It has not been a good week for me. Not so much as stuffing my face with sweet stuff and all things bad, but the biscuits beckoned, and we’ve had a couple of snack lunches when we’ve been out. I’ve tried to be sensible, but the mince pies did look rather nice (and they were, but we did only have the one each, honest), and a custard slice sneaked in as well, plus we had cheesecake for dessert………….. twice.

No point in doing a Fibbing Friday and telling porkies, the only person I’m kidding then is me. One vital thing about dieting, you have to be honest with yourself.
We all get bored with the same things day in, day out, which is why I don’t stick to set  meals on particular days. I had enough of that at school.

The experts say it is not a good idea to weigh yourself every day, but I do because it is such a fine balancing act in more weighs ways than one.
I confess to having friendly spots in the bathroom, and although not exactly a case of  X marks the spot, I know where they are! Yesterday saw me out of target and sweating some. It’s the first time in almost a year that I’d dipped out of my parameters and I was aware of a couple of reasons, other than eating the wrong food, as to why this could be.
I got on the scales this morning, and hoped for a good result.
Yay! Back in target, admittedly only just, but I’d pulled it back and can now concentrate on getting my act together. It is so easy to lapse, and whilst you can get away with it once in a while, more than three days out of any seven and you’re toast…… and yes, I’d be having that as well, although the bread was my second B option and I synned the Flora.
I might end up ordering some of these to strengthen my resolve.
Have a good day everyone. Keep safe.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

yep, know how you feel Di!
I’m hoping for a good result this week! I did go back again to slimming world, I just couldn’t do it on my own.
I’ve given up weighing myself daily, I was only torturing myself by doing that.

  2. I’m cutting back on the snacks. I went on the scale for yesterday after 14 days and I’m down 5. High hopes for your getting back on track

  3. Your memes are hilarious. It is tough dieting. I’m glad you are happy with the recent weigh in.

  4. Ah, dieting is so hard, Di. I sympathise.

  5. To be honest, you’ve had a lot of things going on. Any one of them could require a treat just to settle you down! 🙂 You’ll get to where you want to be. Maybe a new dish to put in the rotation could help?
