Today is Friday 12th November

Just a short entry today.
The day has started cloudy and chilly with a brisk wind. Rain is forecast later so I’m glad we have a ‘free day’, with no appointments and no-one likely to call.

Our plan is to go into town and purchase some trim for the walls and brackets to attach the bottom cupboard panel as no fixings were included in the box. Not a problem really and probably why it was only £12 compared to £25. I’ve gone through the cooker manual and hi-lited the points I’d want to find quickly. There’s a rapid heat facility and the oven came with two shelves and a base pan. The grill is incorporated in the oven but it’s rare I’ll use it anyway as we had a separate grill on the Belling and I never used that! I am going to treat myself to some new baking tins too as the one I have is a bit tatty,  its twin having been used as a paint tray a couple of years ago!

It’s so nice to have a spare bedroom again as it has been a mess these past three weeks housing cabinets, cookers and hobs plus a host of packaging!! We can actually see the bed now!

Keep safe and take care everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Sounds like the hook up went well. Reorganizing is so much better than boxing up and stashing things where they don’t belong!

Life is good!! I’m getting ready to start my holiday cookie baking and was looking at my cookie sheets – they are old but they were gifts from my sons. Although they have some wear, I’m not replacing them… I did get a new-to-me mini muffin tin. It will be perfect for baking cookies with peanut butter cups inn them!

    • I don’t bake cakes very much these days, but if I’m cooking savoury dishes, I like them to be in a second tin in case they overflow as it’s easier to clean a tin than the cooker!
