Fibbing Friday Substitute 12th November

It’s not my turn this week, but I’m aware Frank has a lot on so I’m doing a makeshift FF on the fly ‘just in case’.

To join in, write a post with your answers to my 10 questions below and tag it “Fibbing Friday” or #FibbingFriday. Then link back to this post so that others can enjoy your answers and maybe join in as well! The more the merrier and some of your answers have been tremendously inventive!
If you use WordPress, pingbacks are enabled, so as long as you link to this post, it should show up.
Bear in mind though that they are usually approved manually, so don’t be surprised if the link doesn’t show immediately as I may be late accessing my blog.

No theme this week, so a bit of a nonsense lucky dip………..

1.   Lucky dip is self explanatory when it comes to gifts, but how did it originate?
2.   Why is seven considered a lucky number?
3.   Why is thirteen considered unlucky?
4.   Why do they say elephants never forget?
5.    How did slippers get so called?
6.   What are the doldrums?
7.   Do igloos have central heating?
8.   What was a jamboree bag?
9.   What were blackjacks?
10. Little Boy Blue blew what exactly?

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Thanks for filling in! Apparently my brain fell out my ear, and I forgot it was my Friday until it was too late. Since you managed to provide a substitute, I will let it stand as this week’s Fibbing Friday, and I can take back over next week.

Good evening, one and all! Technically, this was my week to host Fibbing Friday, but my brain apparently fell out of my ear, and I forgot about that until it was really too late to do anything about it. Fortunately, my cohort, Di stepped up to the plate, and put up these questions. I will definitely be back next week!
