The month is in double figures already, but for once we have a quiet day.
Not that we shall be doing nothing as we want to put the finishing touches to the hob unit before tomorrow. Hopefully that should not take long and then we can spend the rest of the day relaxing.
Lunch today is stew. The hob is due to be connected tomorrow afternoon but we shall have to disconnect the old cooker and get it out of the way before then. I can heat up bowls of soup in the microwave. We won’t starve for a day as I even got some cooked chicken in for sandwiches!
The day is grey and overcast, but quite mild. I went out to read the meters and didn’t need a jumper. We are where we should be and well on budget. Our phone bill was over budget again this month but then we had been making phone calls to the hospital which all add up. For the year though, we are still about £28 below budget so far, so I can’t complain.
Hubby is feeling a bit more chipper today obviously, and his sore throat has eased considerably. Now we wait for the results though from what was seen, things are looking OK. The fight now is to get his INR back on track as it dropped to 1 yesterday and his range is between 3 and 4. Luckily we have a good INR nurse and she is monitoring him VERY closely. We are changing our pharmacy to the dispensary at the new surgery. This is because the meds we are being given have a short shelf life, one of only 3 months. As Hubby takes a combo of 1, 3 and 5 mg of warfarin when required, this is not good enough.
I was on warfarin for nine months after a pulmonary embolism. I don’t envy him or the finger stabs

He’s been on warfarin for about 30 years and doesn’t mind the finger jabs, but because he had to stop taking it for these procedures, he’s had to inject himself with Celexane instead. Now he’s on both until they can get him back in range. They tried him on the alternative meds but he had a severe reaction to them so is on warfarin for life.
I guess you have to keep in the positive side thinking his condition is treatable. Good luck to him
All is good Cheryl.
Glad your husband is feeling better from the aftereffects of the procedure… I am considering a new stove as my oven is not heating very well. I purchased it 20 years ago right after Thanksgiving when my oven died with the turkey half roasted. We are having everyone over and I’ve got my turkey bought… I’m just hoping I don’t have a repeat performance!!
Good luck! I once cooked a dinner for 15 on an electric stove with only three rings working. I always cooked the bird overnight leaving the oven free for everything else. No-one went hungry!
