Our quote this week is
I write a lot (you think??)…… which is why Hubby suggested I start a blog way back in 2013.
I enjoy the challenges that come into my reader, be they photo prompts, word prompts, or questions and answers. Some inspire me more than others so I don’t always participate, and sometimes what I start out with is not the end result.
Writing letters to my Mum was always of the day to day events since my previous letter, much like my ‘Today is……’ posts which still seem quite popular so I am sticking with them for now.
Other times, something on our walks or something someone has said will trigger a memory or thought process that I like to get down on paper. Some mornings I wake up with an idea for a story or post going through my head, but by the time I’ve got up and dressed, I’ve forgotten it. It’s the same with poetry, I get a really good line and then forget it. I now keep a book and pencil in my bedside drawer just in case!
I can understand the quote in respect of writing, but what the trigger is to turning on that tap is different for everybody.
Well said Di. We are inspired by different things.
🙂
Inspiration is out there but we have to pay attention or we miss it. I had a friend who kept a note pad with ideas on it. She kept saying that “one of these days” she was going to write a novel. As far as I know she’s never written even a short story! So making the time to write is just as important as the inspiration…
This is true. I used to write pages and pages to my mum. These days it’s an effort to write two, but my Hello cards are always full!
Yes, I agree! I write a lot, but I do enjoy it very much!
So true Di.
Everyone has their own “faucet”.
Thanks Dr T. Hope you’re having a good day.
Welcome Di.
